I don't know if this helps, but I choose tunes that contain a section of harmonic flavour that stands out from others ... I live in a part of the world that's dominated by folkies - that means that often people will play G, C and D all night long ...

I was playing for about five years before I understood what was meant by a key. I was clueless, I had no teachers, I taught myself everything. I understand basic music theory, but I have limitations since I never had any formal training. I've only...

Let's hear your music! And your thoughts on how you approach improvisation on the guitar. And whatever else is on your mind.

"Truly fertile Music, the only kind that will move us, that we shall truly appreciate, will be a Music conducive to Dream, which banishes all reason and analysis. One must not wish first to understand and then to feel. Art does not tolerate Reason."
Albert Camus (1913–1960), French Philosopher in “Essay on Music", 1932

"Music … can name the unnamable and communicate the unknowable." Leonard Bernstein (1918-90) American Composer in The Unanswered Question

This is my friend, Steve Levine, playing at Family Music in 2006. He is one of the best guitarists I have ever personally known. Fabulous improviser, too! In this video, he is playing his Seymour Duncan Convertible and his McInturff "Glory" electric guitar. Steve Levines MySpace Music Page
