Duet for Theremin and Lap Steel

Duet for Theremin and Lap Steel in an improvising duet consisting of Theremin and Lap Steel. These instruments are processed live via VST effects and recorded to 2 track. The lap steel is new for me and has been an interesting journey. Improvising with the lap steel has helped me "think" and rethink guitar, improvisation, and self.

We have been performing for several years, typically 5-6 shows a year. We just finished up a small (11 day) tour with with our friends Good Noise Bad Noise from the… Continue

Thanks for the kind words Paul. I am just getting started with your work and am enjoying what I have heard so far. Great tones and feel to the work.
Cheers,
Frank

Frank,

Glad you got some music up here! Lori is in the other room, and she asked what I was playing. When I told her, she said that it's creeping her out - sounds like the soundtrack to a horror film. I assured her you'd be flattered! ;^)

There are a few times where I can tell what's Theramin, and what's lapsteel, but admittedly that is rather rare. I really dig this stuff. Gives me something to listen to while I try to get the blood stains off the floor...

Cool music, very trippy (in a good way). Kind of reminds me a cross between David Torn, Tangerine Dream and Manuel Göttsching (of Ashra/Ashra Tempel). Cool stuff. :-)

Whee-ha! Thanks for joining up buddy. Now saunter over to the Forum and post something in my "Tell us about your improvisational gigs" discussion.

and post some damn music! I happen to know you've got about 1000 hours! And it doesn't HAVE to be guitar - I think the foks here would be enthralled by some Duet for Theramin and Lapsteel! But yes, get some guitar up here too.

And feel free to comment on my page. Yes, I've got a bunch of your work that I stole appropriated. You can go ahead and point oput that any guitar work that sounds good is actually yours...

;^)
