As to our Czech friends making Soldano-type and Orange-type Randall RM modules, I've been in touch. d00d wants $200.00 to modify a module - which I'm ok with, but it's going to take some time to execute on. I got bills like everyone else. :)
When I get those modules into the bullpen I'll let you know.
Oh and the guitars? Well, you may have noticed I have "Equipment" and "Projects"... Projects are works in progress. Equipment is functioning stuff. As for the guitars I've bought a few sets of pickups. I bought a couple of "Attackbuckers" from www.guitarattack.com, which are new pickups wound to replicate the pickup in Eddie Van Halen's Frankenstrat. My body has a rear-routed control cavity as I've no interest in recreating Eddie's guitar - just want to be able to dial in the tone if I want.
On eBay, I got a neck/bridge set of MightyMite "motherbuckers" which have something crazy like 25k DC resistance (the Attackbucker, if it follows spec, would be about 9.2k) but it's gotten rave reviews on HC and for $45.00 for the set, I decided to take the plunge. I figured they would go into the Warmoth Explorer project. I've got a Duncan SH-5 Custom that I'll drop in the Dinky project (I have an old ESP reverse-chisel headstock neck that I'm going to use) and managed to find an out-of-production DiMarzio Virtual Vintage Solo single-coil stack (noise-cancelling) for the neck position. Looking forward to that. Time to find some tuning keys and some locking vibratos.
As pieces come out of the pipeline, I'll post pictures as projects get underway, and as they are completed... :)
Also on the Randall Forum, there's a guy in the Czech Republic who does modifications to modules (along with our own USA guys), but takes the modules way out of their original spec. He's modified a Modern to replicate an SLO 100 and a Tweed to emulate an Orange 120. I'm very seriously considering getting another Modern and picking up a used Tweed on ebay to send to him...
