I listened to your new tunes. I like the jazzy sounding ones the best. They all have some nice guitar moments.
Listening to them, the first thing I thought of was the limitations of cassette tapes in those 4-track recorders. It used to frustate me to no end - the noise and lack of dynamic range couldn't quite capture the subtleties and nuances of my playing. Everything also somehow sounds squished after the 4-track got done with it. Anyhow, thank goodness digital recording came along and banished all that stuff! LOL
That stuff also sounded somewhat like stuff I was trying to do around 93-94.
I went thru a similar process. I was heavily involved in two different worship teams during the span of about five years. I think a lot of it was just me tripping on myself, though. Anyhow, I put the guitar down once or twice, but I never stopped playing altogether. Almost but not quite.
Thanks Paul. I love Star Trek pictures - I really loved the original series - probably shaped american culture as much as anythning else.
I put this picture on my wife's digital picture frame too - along with pictures of the kids on the baech, our dogs... - once in a while that one pops up and it's fun to watch people's reactions.
I have started recording again, after a 15 year break: I'm looking forward to sharing these songs with others. Some songs are written, some songs have been resurrected off of 4-track tape, others I'm writing as I lay down the tracks. It will be interesting to see what comes out. I just need to get a decent sound card with a p/pdif input and I will have all of the HW I need.
Time is always tight, but I'll eventually finish some of these projects up this winter.

I look forward to hearing your tunes. You took a long break from recording, I thought I took a long break at six years, but you've got me beat.
Anyhow, I think this will indeed be an interesting place. I really enjoy the conversations that are happening here so far.

This should be an intersting site - Thanks!
I love your picture. I was a trekkie in the 70s. Mr. Spock was one of my favs. ;-)
